DESCRIPTION:
This is a PDF file for a crochet pattern to complete a fun photography prop for a professional photographer or even an amateur that just wants some fun photos. It would also make a great Halloween costume for a baby girl. You are not able to walk in the mermaid tail, so it can only be used for photos, or for a baby that doesn't walk. Some older kids and adults like to use it as a blanket/sleeping bag for lounging on the couch as well.
The Mermaid Tail pattern was written to be made quickly for a photography prop and uses different weights of yarn for different sizes (an adult sized tail is a quick and easy weekend project). Depending on the size you are making, it calls for varying numbers of strands of worsted weight yarn, bulky yarn, or super bulky yarn. The hook size needed also depends on size tail you are making and could be anything from “J” to “Q” (6 to 15 mm). Photos are included to show various steps in the pattern.
