DESCRIPTION:
This is a PDF knit pattern to make a cable hat in worsted weight yarn (such as Malabrigo Rios), regular bulky (such as Malabrigo Chunky) yarn and LIGHT bulky (such as Malabrigo Mecha) yarn. This pattern has 7 (9 for worsted) different cables so you won’t get bored! If you prefer a plain beanie without a pom, check out the beautiful crown! No pom needed.  The pattern includes 2 sizes (teen/adult and large adult). The fit of this pattern is an oversized beanie fit (teen/adult) or standard beanie/oversized beanie (large adult).

KNIT SKILL LEVEL:
Intermediate/Advanced (cables).  This pattern has 7-9 different kinds of cables.  It's not necessarily difficult but I recommend cable experience and you must pay close attention while knitting.  Must be able to follow a written knit pattern.

KNITTING NEEDLES

#4 Worsted Knitting Needles (Malabrigo Rios):
US #4 (3.5 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular knitting needle
US #8 (5 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular knitting needle
A set of DPNs in same size used for body (optional), or use magic loop method

#5 Light Bulky Knitting Needles (Malabrigo Mecha):
US #6 (4 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular knitting needle
US #9 (5.5 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular knitting needle
A set of DPNs in same size used for body (optional), or use magic loop method

#5 Bulky Knitting Needles (Malabrigo Chunky):
US #7 (4.5 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular knitting needle
US #10.5 (6.5 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular knitting needle
A set of DPNs in same size used for body (optional), or use magic loop method

YARN:  
160-230 yards of #4 worsted weight yarn (I used Malabrigo Rios)
145-195 yards of #5 light bulky weight yarn (I used Malabrigo Mecha)
100-150 yards of #5 bulky weight yarn (I used Malabrigo Chunky)

NOTIONS:  
Stitch markers, measuring tape, yarn needle, 2 cable needles
