DESCRIPTION:
This is a PDF knitting pattern for a wonderfully textured hat in 3 sizes made with 3 different weights of yarn (light bulky, bulky and super bulky). 

SIZES:
Child, Teen/Adult, Large Adult

KNIT SKILL LEVEL:
Easy.  Skills used are long tail cast on, knitting in the round, knit, purl, increases, decreases

TERMINOLOGY:
This pattern is written in STANDARD U.S. TERMS (and in English only).

LIGHT BULKY KNITTING NEEDLES:

Designed for Malabrigo Mecha 

US #6 (4 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular knitting needle, or size needed to obtain gauge 

US #9 (4.5 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular knitting needle 

A set of DPNs/shorties (any size close to size used for body will work), or use magic loop method

BULKY (CHUNKY) KNITTING NEEDLES: 

Designed for Malabrigo Chunky 

US #7 (4.5 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular knitting needle, or size needed to obtain gauge

US #10 (6 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular knitting needle 

A set of DPNs/shorties (any size close to size used for body will work), or use magic loop method

SUPER BULKY KNITTING NEEDLES: 

Designed for Malabrigo Rasta 

US #11 (8 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular knitting needle, or size needed to obtain gauge 

US #13 (9 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular knitting needle 

A set of DPNs/shorties (any size close to size used for body will work), or use magic loop method

YARN:
LIGHT BULKY:  Approximately 110=-150 yards of #5 light bulky weight yarn (I used Malabrigo Mecha)
BULKY (CHUNKY):  Approximately 100-140 yards of #5 bulky weight yarn (I used Malabrigo Chunky)
SUPER BULKY:  Approximately 70-90 yards of #6 super bulky weight yarn (I used Malabrigo Rasta)
