What it is: You know that lingering scent of perfume or cologne on a favorite scarf or sweater? What if it was intentional and not just an after-effect?
How about adding a little bit of aromatherapy as you knit or crochet? That’s where Scented Stitches comes in. It’s a knitters’ balm with the extra ‘oomph’ of essential oils.
Small batch, hand poured and lovingly blended, the scents are formulated for every day use.
What is included: This listing includes a set of 4 mini sample bottles that are .05 oz each, one of each scent. If you like your samples be sure to let me know and I will stock the larger sizes too.
Scents:
Calm includes lavender and patchouli with bergamot and sweet orange for relaxation and a sense of well-being.
Cheer uses both rose absolute and rose geranium for a super high-vibe-rosy effect, with lemongrass for a bit of juicy freshness to radiate optimism.
Power pushes you through busy days and burnout with its zesty mix of palo santo, ginger and lemon.
Confidence exudes a sense of comfort and cool with ylang ylang, cardamom and jasmine absolute.
How to Use: Rub generously on the part of your finger that yarn passes over as you knit or crochet to add scent as you go.
The balms are solid, but body heat will soften them when applied to skin. This may make the balm feel like an oil, so don’t be alarmed if it feels a little bit like a liquid. As you continue to work on your project, and the yarn rubs over the balm, the area will dry and you will want to re-apply.
You control the amount of scent by how often you re-apply the balm. We suggest every third row for a project with a width of less than 12” and every other row for wider projects.
Just like a perfume, there is ‘dry down’ with the scents of each balm. Top notes evaporate more quickly and base notes tend to linger longer.
As if knitting or crocheting isn’t relaxing enough, you’ll be surrounded by the scent of the balm you're using. Breathe it in and enjoy!
The balms can also be applied to pulse points, the back of your neck, under your nose or on upper chest.
